As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

— Colossians 3:12

THE CORE OF OUR PANTRY IS OUR NUMEROUS

VOLUNTEERS!

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our pantry! Without them, we couldn't continue to serve the 675+ households weekly. Our volunteers work hard but they have fun too!
We have a wide range of opportunities for individuals, families, groups, and organizations to get involved. We need volunteers to do the following: grocery pickup, sorting and organizing food, truck driving, pallet operating, food packing, loading vehicles, and helping with food distribution.

If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to have you join our team!

One of the hardest, but very rewarding jobs is unloading trucks.  Here are some general details:
  • Pallets that require unloading, we carry these items into the building or into the cooler stacking items securely.
  • Second Harvest truck - prepare for Wednesday evening's event.
  • Typically, unloading requires lifting from 6-to 60 pounds repeatedly.
Other tasks include:
  • Pick up food from local stores in Baraboo, Wisconsin Dells, or surrounding areas
  • Weighing and putting away picked up items
  • Arrange cooler/freezer
  • Fill bags for donations distribution
  • Sort and bag food items
  • Help with distribution
  • Cleaning
*Please note:  When it is warm, taking breaks and drinking water are a must.
